hi all,

does anyone have any views on best snow chains for the 22" wheels? Off skiing at christmas and hoping to not spend almost £400 for chains

I have looked and can only find 3 options all expensive.

has anyone taken snowsocks? as they seem a little pointless with all season tyres?

I’m working the same out for the 20’s.
LR is not being helpful for me either.

One option that may work is SCC z06 or z08 cable
Chains which have very low clearance requirements, 6mm and 8mm respectively. We used them on our old q7 which technically need front stud clamp Thule Summits.

I’ll be putting ours up on a hoist shorty to see if we can make the Thule xg12s to work, even if we need to use spacers. Else I’ll go z08.

We need something robust down here in nz for the ski access roads, as you run them on non snow roads and for black ice reasons. As a result they get a hammering. Can’t run winter tyres either as typically too warm for 99% of your drive.
