Hi all,

I am currently looking to purchase a new discovery 5 but have seen so many horror stories about these. Would you recommend buying one or should I steer clear? I've just looked at one person who was paid to review the car for 6 months and the car spent 90% of the time in the garage for repairs?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

I bought a D5 HSE SD4 and have had it several weeks and done over 1000 miles. A few small issues but nothing that can’t get fixed. I drove a DS HSE Lux last weekend whilst mine was having the N071 and door rubber replaced, it’s not a patch on the D5.

Is buy it all over again yes. No big issues I’m aware of apart from the oil dilution and early oil service on the 3L engines ones. InControl Touch Pro is still a bit buggy but nothing major.

Had mine a year now. One or two niggles but nothing too serious. Perhaps the biggest long turn problem maybe the oil dilution on the 3 litre. I suppose you have to except we only post when we have a problem. You don't see many "another faultless day of ownership" posts. I really like the car my previous one was the Disco D4.
3litre SE. Monticello Red. Electric deployable tow bar.

We've had our Discovery 5 since last September it's is been great 👍 the only problem I've had is with the leather on the drivers seat, there's a mark on the leather which won't come out and the dealer is changing the seat cover. It's a fantastic car and I love driving it.

Do not buy.
Has been a disaster. Has faults that retailer and JLR are aware of but can’t fix. Retailer can’t find the faults so won’t do anything. Now taking legal action. Stay away of buy a 4.

What problems are you talking about? I would be interested to know.
Thanks

Had mine since last July and other than a few niggles that you get with most new cars its fantastic.
Now I've retired I have to find any excuse to get out and enjoy it now I'm not doing the workday run.
I've had all the Disco models since they came out and other than a D3 that cost more to fix in the end than retail cost I've had very little trouble in over 20 years.
Get one.
