Hi
Has anyone experience (positive/negative) with box tuning on the disco 5?
I was previously living in South Africa and a lot of people had it on their Disco 4's and seemed happy.
I have done 3 LR experience days and the tuning guys were always present as well, but at that moment I was not really interested in chipping my disco 4.
Now I ordered a disco 5 (and not living in RSA anymore), but was a bit 'disappointed' that the 3L diesel engine is still the same. I had expected new figures for it, like the D300 from the Velar (300 HP, 700Nm).
So I was wondering if the Velar engine is actually the same as in the Disco 5, but with a different setting.
This would normally mean that chipping the engine from the Disco 5 to more or less the same settings as the Velar would actually do no harm to the engine under normal driving conditions. And the brakes and suspension should be more than able to cope with these changes as well.

All experiences more than welcome, especially from people who actually did this kind of chipping.
Chip tuning
I saw that guy on YouTube called 'Earthrover', had a video of him testing the Chip Express box in his D5. He tried a 0-60 with and without the box and didn't really see much of a difference.
Considering the weight of the D5, i'm more than happy with the acceleration, however would be interested in the economy side of the box if there was proof that it saved on that side.

Interesting link, especially regarding the DPF, which might already be a problem with the current D5 when I read the specific topic on this forum...
