You sure it is a D5!
Seriously I have a HSE, do you have a SE by any chance? Apologies if that is the case as I have been posting about the Pro system.
Radio No Reception
Visited my Land Rover dealer today. Despite being built only last month, it does not have the Phase 3 upgrade which is being done my dealers. It is however suspended at the moment with some cars being held at dealers awaiting clearance from Land Rover. The car is booked in to have it done as it fixes a number of issues as well (in my experience on an Evoque) considerably improving sound quality. Download takes three hours which speaks volumes as to how far reaching it is...
Hi All,
As much as I love my D5, it is soooooo annoying with all the constant faults and issues! I have had 2 freelanders, a disco 3, disco 4 and now a 5 but I have to admit it is likely to be my last Land Rover.
It's beyond a joke really- Radio sometimes works-sometimes doesn't, even with the update! The boot has a mind of its own, regularly closing on us when loading/unloading for no reason! Air conditioning failed, we had the loose trim on the A- pillar which took 3 attempts to fix!, the not in park warning light, etc. Just waiting for the early service light now then I think we have ticked all the fault boxes!
Nice car but ruined by so many niggles it's ridiculous, every time we get in it we wonder what will go wrong next- or if everything will actually work!
Come on Land Rover- premium brand- premium price tag- far from premium product!

Fortunately I have the SE so apart from the A pillars, the service light, the back door failing the early adblue , music from the usb stick hit and miss. the back seats not folding flat the rear view camera not always coming on. Its been pretty much fault free.
3litre SE. Monticello Red. Electric deployable tow bar.
Brand new Disco sport. DAB radio doesn't seem to have auto-tune/ find new ensembles. So I need to frequently manually hit the "refresh station list" on touchscreen. Seems odd. So when I leave Cornwall and enter Devon ; Cornwall GOLD station for example, becomes "no reception" rather than retuned automatically to DEVON GOLD. Same thing happens on other "localised' stations. The process is repeated when I return to Cornwall.
I Have therefore doubled up on the stored pre-sets (crazy!). A drive up to Scotland would become tiresome and dangerous (looking at screen rather than road).
The Manual page 197 point 14, shows under SETTINGS shows 3 options to select:-
Radiotext
Alternative Frequency (AF)
DAB L-Band
However my settings shows only Radiotext. (Friend's car the same.)
Is this a general issue? Has (AF) been included elsewhere? surely a manual re-tune isn't required every 5 minutes?
