Hi folks,

I am about to buy a 2017 Disco 5 HSE Luxury.
Is there anything to look out for? Like the B-pillar ticking in the first Disco Sport models...

Greets & thanks,
Hauser

No B Pillar ticking reported yet. There was one ticking issue reported on another forum I read but it’s not the same as the DSport issue by any means.

If you get a 3L diesel you’ll see oil dilution issues as in the DSport. The 2L doesn’t suffer from this due to the way the system is installed.

TBH the 2L engine is a cracker. Plenty of power. Quiet. Pretty frugal too for such a big car.

Only thing you’ll suffer is a big grin on your face every time you drive it :)

Hi,

thanks for your reply.
The 2L SD4 was the engine I was originally looking for. But I found a very very nice HSE Lux with the 3L engine. Wanted to bail but they gave me so much discount on it that ended up cheaper as any SD4 HSE I found so far. So I took it.
I also own a Disco Sport (which my wife will drive now) and know about the oil dilution issue. It isn't so bad for me since I don't have many unfinished DPF regeneration cycles due to my daily drive to work and back. I guess the Disco 5 will do just fine with that specific issue.

Greets & thanks again,
Hauser
