This is the saddest thread for a brand new car launched in 2017. I’ve owned 3 Tesla’s in the last six years. After a week in a Tesla you realize that any car that doesn’t have real time Google maps is like Driving a BlackBerry phone. Having to download quarterly maps to a new car is like saying you need to download maps to a USB and then stick them in your iPhone once a quarter. That is insane. Car designers have had six years. Six years! Land Rover, stop making cars that feel like flip phones. </end rant>
I totally agree with you BeachDisco, mind you the Tesla cars are sort of the most extreme 'connected' car you could compare the D5 against!
It does seem very prehistoric when they tell you to download a file onto a USB and plug it into the car, especially when (apart from cars like Tesla's), you can buy a Sat Nav device, or a Speed Detector, which updates itself without you having to do anything...

Do you guys pay for the 3g connectivity in your car? Because if you did you would notice that the maps get small updates periodically... my last OTA update to the map was 1.17.2018
I just did the USB update which update the version of the maps as well.

I assume it is OTA as ive never update any maps and the car has not had any software updates from the dealer.
If you click on Navigation, then the gear icon, then navigation settings, then under map settings (or app details) it will show you version numbers.
I will keep an eye on the date and see if it changed again, i just did the USB update and it did change the map version number. Im getting updated to the 17C update from the dealer next tuesday.
I am in the USA.

OK, I will have a look at mine, I am currently up to date including the V3 infotainment upgrade. That provides a notice that a map ugrade is available, but you still have to download onto a USB. You can tell if you have it, the 4 x 4 i tab is replaced by a mountain icon.
By the way what is 17C? Do you use Topix to see what the outstanding fixes are?
