I have a Disco 5 on 2017 reg. It has been serviced by main dealer from new. I took it for an Mot at the main dealers yesterday, the evening before a message informed me that the DEF needed top up within 1000 miles. I therefore asked the dealer to do this also. Later in the morning having dropped it off early, the service desk rang to say that they could not put it through the mot as the engine warning light had come on and needed investigation. Not on when I left it. They charged £150 to check and said it was a fault on exhaust o2 sensor which they had reset. They passed the MOT then, no other issues. When I collected the car the engine light came on straight away. They now want £550 to replace sensor. This is being done next week when they get the part in.
I find it unusual that this fau!t occurred whilst they were refilling the DEF. Has anyone heard of anything similar or is this just coincidence.
