Just took my D5 in for an AdBlue top-up, and yes, fitting a spare wheel protector was one of the free service items added on – the other was a software update for electric towbar. Service receptionist who took the car in explained about the protector and said 'Have you still got your spare wheel?' H...

At some point insurance companies covering windscreen replacement will have to take on board the cost of sorting all the gubbins attached to the screen these days. Guess that means premiums will rise again...

Now fitted, and agreed the wheel is very heavy! Excellent device, and easy to fit: really wonder why the collected design genius of LR didn't think of something like this to sort what is clearly a flawed design – or were they scared to make a concept version in case the Chinese nicked it? ;-) www.au...
