Hi welcome. Yes i had this issue. I believe they adjusted the rear hatch and replaced the scuffed bit. And yes it was under warranty.

If its the 2 litre i read on another forum there are issues with the balance shaft. Other than that mentions of turbo and idler pulley. But unfortunately no definitive answer.

Hi Defender. Yes have seen quite a few threads of owners having similar problems. Might be worth doing a Google search for that problem. I know some owners have fitted charging points to their cars especially if the cars not used too often.

LR then produced a similar protection plate but not considered quite as good which was fitted at the 1st or 2nd service. I stuck with the 3rd party...

Hi, yes you are probably right. I'm assuming its not been off in a while. I had this on my D4. Lots of release oil or wd40. If you have the key turning fully i seem to remember knocking the latch mechanism with a metal driver + hammer under the car. But take care not to damage it. I only hit it fail...
