Re: EGR faults and blocked DPF warnings
Sounds like your garage is chasing symptoms, not the root cause. Before you do an EGR delete (which can have implications for your warranty and emissions), I'd get a second opinion from a different Land Rover specialist. A persistent DPF issue after all that work suggests something else is fundament...

Re: My 37K New 3.0 litre MY2020 Discovery 5 Sd6 diesel
The 3.0 SD6 is a much better engine than the Ingenium, you made a good choice there. For a DPF regen, an hour at 70mph should be plenty, but it depends on your driving style too. Short trips kill them. It should easily handle a 1000-mile trip to France.

Re: Suggestions for Bordeaux/Toulouse trip
Road trips are always such a fun way to explore! I’ve done a few trips where planning the route was just as exciting as the journey. When I drove through Southern France, I opted for fewer miles per day to enjoy scenic villages and small local spots—those unplanned café stops and local markets are g...

Re: 100k service and belts/tensioners cost
That sounds pretty close to what I paid for a similar service on my Disco 5. I went with an independent specialist too, and the price was lower than a dealer but still pricey. The key thing is making sure they’re covering everything—belts, tensioners, and any other bits that might come up. If they’r...

Re: 2018 HSE incontrol touch. What version is the latest update for me
I’ve had similar issues with my car’s TCU not connecting, and it turned out to be a firmware thing for me. If you're on a 19C version and the latest on the Land Rover site is 19B, it could be a mismatch or something that hasn't been updated for your model yet. I wouldn’t recommend downgrading via US...

Re: Brake hoses
Hey! I’ve had good luck with Demon Tweeks for braided brake lines – they usually have a solid range for different models. Also, Euro Car Parts sometimes has them, but if you’re looking for something more specific, checking out performance part specialists might be worth it. I swapped mine out on my ...

Re: Cooling system maintenance 4cyl turbo
For the JLR 2.0L turbo, I’d definitely recommend keeping an eye on the coolant levels and making sure the fluid still looks clean. At 38,000 miles, it’s not a bad idea to do a coolant flush if it hasn't been done yet, and check the hoses for any cracks or wear. I’ve had issues with hoses getting bri...

Re: New Engine Needed after 2 years & 23k miles
I had a somewhat similar experience with a car issue a while back and decided to sell it after the repairs. I used https://www.a1autotransport.com/ to ship the car to the new buyer in another state, and they made the process seamless. It saved me a lot of hassle during a stressful time. If you ever ...

Re: New Engine Needed after 2 years & 23k miles
That’s a tough situation to be in, and I completely get why you’d be concerned about the long-term impact on your Discovery 5. Getting a new engine at under 2 years and 23,000 miles isn’t something anyone expects, but it’s great that Land Rover is replacing it under warranty. I’d suggest asking the ...
