Re: SIM card/connectivity
I use Vodaphone as it seems to have pretty good coverage. My wife has had several different companies and 99% of the time I will have connection when she doesn't, but if you find good coverage with EE then that is probably best for you.

Re: Worried about break in and theft
Apparently, thieves can start your car using the OBD port and a computer. You can get dummy OBD ports to replace your standard OBD port which you hide somewhere. It's enough to confuse and slow down the thieves. You can get a basic one which does nothing, a powered one, which will make their reader ...

Re: SIM card/connectivity
I haggled on line and they got it down to £11 for 51GB on a 12 month contract. I already have a sim for my phone through Vodaphone with 160GB a month. I wanted about 50GB a month as I will also be using it in a hotspot in my caravan.

Re: Disco 5 battery charging.
I've just tested the 13 pin towing socket and discovered that it has a permanent 12V supply on pin 9 with pin 13 being the earth. My plan is to wire the Noco up to a 13 pin socket and just plug it in when not using the vehicle. Anyone have any thoughts?

Re: SIM card/connectivity
I have just used a Vodaphone sim. It is a standard phone sim with free texts and calls, which is irrelevant, but also 51gb of data month. I was a bit dubious, as everyone says it has to be data only, but the vendor assured me it would work, I just had to put it in a phone first to activate it and th...

Speaker related fault.
I have had this fixed now, but wondered if others might want to know about the fault. Within the first week of buying my 2019 sd6 SE the sound system developed an annoying hiss through all of the speakers. It also slightly sounded like a faint noise of a cooling fan. The noise would be permanently t...

Re: Disco 5 battery charging.
By the battery terminals I assume you mean the booster posts. This is where I am connecting my Noco and it seems to do the trick. I would like to have a more permanent connection to the battery itself, but it seems to have a battery monitoring system on the positive, which complicates where to conne...

Hello everyone.
Have owned the Disco for about 3 months now. So far I have been a member of a Discovery 5 group on Facebook, but they are not very helpful and seem to concentrate on tyres and pretty pictures of their cars rather than answering techy type questions, so I thought I would go back to basics. You can't ...
