Everyone is in the same boat to varying degrees tbh. That probably accounts for the drop in used prices of the Disco more than anything.
All you can do is probably what you’ve been doing, get multiple comparison site quotes.

Re: 2017 Disco HSE Windshield Leak - LR unable to fix
My Disco went into Parks, Inverness. I recall when the Disco was in for an engine replacement under LRs own extended warranty, I was supplied with a replacement vehicle until mine was repaired. It took about 8 weeks. When the garage was washing the car prior to giving it back, they discovered a wind...

Yep, LR will entertain a warranty claim up to roughly a year, thereafter you tend to be on your own.

Re: 67 Reg Discovery 5 Potential Problems Advice
I’ve got a 2lt and not one problem. I’ve had D3 and D4s and I can’t see how it’s under powered. I also know main dealership LR mechanics who rate the engine above the 3lt in terms of reliability. If you’re disaster planning, when the manufacturers warranty runs out, take the LR branded one. It’s not...

Re: Discovery 5 Brakes
Replacing the discs and pads all round seems to be a particular problem with the D5. My car went in for its first MOT at 22k miles with an advisory that it needed new discs and pads all round. They quoted £1650. That said, the dealership were right and also wrong, yes there was a lip to the discs, b...

Re: New to Discovery ownership - bit of advice
The wheels will cost you for an unmarked set. The black pack, if you mean side vents, lettering and grille is easy enough, just a gentle prising of tabs etc. on the whole. There’s some genuine ones on eBay, but the grille will be over £100. Roof rails are certainly an easy one, but expensive if you ...

Re: Spare wheel theft
I have no love for the firm, but in my opinion you cant blame JLR for the theft of the spare wheel nor is it an issue of vicarious liability. Carrying it on a stage further, if your car is stolen because a thief has hijacked the electronic key code for your car.... there’s also plenty of other examp...

Re: Dilemma.....
There is basically no difference between a TD and a SV. It’s all to do with branding and names.
If you want to play it safe, go for the 2lt. Still a good engine without any questions that hang over the 3lt.

Think the diff is auto locking depending upon setting on the terrain control.
