I have the full surround camera on my evique now which gives you cameras in the mirrors which helps parking and not jerbing the front wheels. I don't think I would pay extra for it though. Also camera in the front bumper but again don't really use it.

Thanks, seen it today and not convinced either by the demonstration of 360 camera,
I think rear camera a must but can you really see all kerb to wheel distance accurately with that 360 camera display.

No not really. I use my mirrors to look at the rear wheels when parking and will admit I use the cameras in the door mirrors to see how close the front wheels are to the kerb.

I've been thinking about whether to add the surround camera or not. I sat in the new Disco and the wing mirrors are huge. I'm not sure surround cameras are needed when you already have a rear camera, large mirrors and front and rear sensors.

I've already ordered a HSE, but saw afterwards an option for the '360° Parking Aid with Visual Display'. anyone know what this is? Also does the Disco not display the Parking distance of the sensors on the screen by default anyway like most cars? just wandered what this added over what we already get in the HSE...the blurb online says:

'Giving a 360° exterior view via the Touchscreen, this helps with various manoeuvres from parking by a kerb to getting in and out of tight spaces and junctions.' Its only £260 extra so I don't think it adds cameras, just maybe sensors?

The 360 gives a birds eye view. I have it in my evoque and have not used it. Personal preference I know but I wouldn't pay for it. Surround camera I do use especially the cameras in the door mirrors.

Thanks for the info v2cjb, I was thinking about the wife, she will be the main driver and has never handled a car this big, regretting not going for the cameras now!

Thanks for the discussion.
SO have gone with HSE and NO additional Aids ( standards rear camera), the basic aids seem better than my RRS Black anyway.
Just be careful.
The only way my wife would go for HSE ( from my SE +++) was if I kept the cost down.
Anyway - done, have been sitting on someones cancelled order till I had seen and driven one.
Been to 3 dealers and driven one today so confirmed the modified order for late March delivery - so very happy.
For others who have seen my Qs on colour, went for Corris in the end!
Thanks guys
Jess
